How To Achieve Fulfillment in Your Life

Do you find yourself ever feeling less fulfilled? Less happy? Searching for something more?


Sometimes, it is easy to lose focus and forget the whole reason why we are here, doing what we are doing. Whether it's within your job, school, relationships, health goals, anything. There are times where we will ask ourselves, "what is the point"? Let me tell you how to find that point with my tips on how to achieve fulfillment in your life.


Fulfillment: "The achievement of something desired, promised, or predicted".


We all dream of living a life full of fulfillment, getting what we want, turning our dreams into reality and creating the perfect life for ourselves. That is the goal, right? Why do we continue on a journey that serves us nothing? Why do we want to make all of this money just to spend it on things that get other peoples' approval, instead of our own? What creates this robotic-type of a world where there isn't any PASSION driving us, only wants. Not only wants but greed. We are greedy. We are greedy to get things that serve us no real purpose except a short-term high of popularity or excitement. 


With that in mind, let's get into some things that I like to remind myself of on a daily basis:


#1) Surround yourself with the right people

This is SO important. You may have heard the saying "you are the average of your five best friends" or something along those lines. It is so true! You become the people that you surround yourself with. Take a moment now to think about who you spend the most time with on a daily basis. If they are more negative people, that are constantly complaining, annoyed, frustrated, or any of those traits, try to notice if that has affected you in any way. Chances are that it has. Now think about the positive people that you hang out with. Chances are you feel much better about them than the negative people. Positivity is contagious, and so is negativity. Change your group, and it will change your life.


#2) Find out what you love

If you haven't discovered what you are extremely passionate about yet, you are not the only one. Although I do recommend putting in some work to find out. Work part-time at random places. Travel when you can. Talk to as many people as you can. The more you explore your surroundings and the more you take on opportunities, the more likely you will find your true passion(s). Once you find that passion, let it take over! Let it drive you! As long as you are doing what you love, you will ALWAYS be happy. 


#3) Do not settle 

Do not settle for less than you deserve. If you hate something, change it. Never get stuck in a situation that you don't care for. If it is no longer serving you or helping you get to where you want to be, change your focus and move on. Everything begins with our own mindset. If you allow yourself to stay at the job, stay in the relationship/friendship, continue to be miserable, how you expect to ever find fulfillment or happiness? It begins with you! Begin searching for something else that sparks your interest, begin planning, begin arranging a situation for yourself that will allow you to change things. The work will not be done for you. You're in charge of your happiness.


#4) Forget about what others think

To be fulfilled is to find it within yourself. Not with the approval of others. You will live a miserable life if you go or continue down a road looking for the acceptance of others. This gets you nowhere! Once you find your own path that brings you true happiness that is the only way you will find fulfillment in your life.


#5) There is a bright side to everything

Even if you are following your dreams, or doing exactly what you want to be doing it won't always be smooth sailing. That just isn't realistic. If you are not being challenged, if you are not learning anything, or if it is too easy for you, you need to find something else or something greater. The goal (for myself anyway) is to be healthy and happy and always learning. Never plateau. With that in mind, there will be frustration and struggle, but never lose focus on the big picture. You cannot give up on yourself when things get hard. Remember that there is something greater coming out of the struggle. If there isn't something greater, then maybe you shouldn't be in that situation in the first place.


#6) Learn to be able to be alone

To be a confident individual is one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself. You do not need approval from others, you do not need others to have a good time, and you are fully able to enjoy time being alone. This is where it all begins! Find true happiness within yourself. Most people that meditate on a regular basis usually have this nailed down. It is such a liberating feeling to be able to enjoy any situation even if its alone at a coffee shop reading a book. If you can feel as content with yourself as you feel while being surrounded by others, you will then attract the right people that you should be around. 


I hope these tips on how to achieve fulfillment in your life where able to open your mind. Although keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and things that have worked very well for me and I feel like it can be valuable information to share. Let me know what you think!
